A six-week-old baby girl from Wisconsin in the US was just released from hospital having been under intensive care for a week after her mother mistakenly fed her vodka-infused baby formula.
According to local news-agencies, the 20-year-old had previously filled a water bottle with plain water, ready to prepare her baby's next bottle. But later, before the feed had taken place, the baby's father emptied out the water and replaced it with alcohol to bring to a friend's house.
It was only after feeding the infant the mother realized the dangerous mix-up, noticing the baby's toes were red, and her eyes were half closed. The newborn was immediately rushed to the hospital and had a blood-alcohol level of 0.294.
Luckily, the infant has now been released from ICU, but the father is currently facing charges for an escalated argument he had with the baby's mother over the incident.
