10 brilliantly British baby names (for the day that’s in it)

Trine Jensen-Burke

Happy royal wedding day!

Are you planning on being glued to the TV watching Harry and Meghan tie the know today? Yeah, us too!

And for all the mamas nearing the end of their pregnancies, thinking that maybe today could be the day – here are a little round up of 10 really lovely British baby names to pick from – just in case you little one does indeed decide to make their entrance today of all days:

1. Montgomery

We love the sound of this fabulously English name, meaning “from a wealthy man’s mountain”. Oh, and you get to shorten it to “Monty”, which is clearly all sorts of adorbs.

2. Seraphina

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner chose this sweet moniker for their second daughter (and often use the shortened version ‘Sera’ when speaking of their little lady). The name’s meaning is less sweet and dainty however, with “ardent” and “fiery” both listed as possible meanings according to Nameberry.

3. Hector

This guy means business.

4. Beatrix

This gorgeous name means “she who makes happy” and we love how it can be shortened to the lovely “Bea” too!

5. Archibald

Who doesn’t love little Archie?! This absolute classic of a name means “genuine and bold”.

6. Christabel

This is an old girl’s name meaning “follower of Christ”.

7. Wolf

Apparently the name Wolf is becoming more and more popular for little British boys, and we think it is a total winner too.

8. Myrtle

Love it! Myrtle is a tribute to the shrub with the same name

9. Wilfred

How cute is this name?! Oh, and we love how it means “desiring peace” too.

10. Constance

The name Constance means “firm of purpose” and is therefor a strong and solid choice for your little lady.
