10 Celebrity Baby Names You Are NOT Going To Want To Copy

Trine Jensen-Burke

And here’s you thinking North and Saint West are pretty out there.

Believe us, when it comes to straight out bananas baby names, we would not put anything past celebrities.

Are you looking for a little name inspiration that is far from traditional? Or just want to see just how far some famous parents are willing to go for a unique moniker?

Well, ta-da:

1. Cricket and Birdie

Busy Philipps and her husband Marc Silverstein clearly thinks it is perfectly fine to give their human babies (two girls) names after garden creatures.

When faced with mockery over the names she chosen for her children, the Cougar Town actress tweeted: “It’s weird people think my kids will be in therapy because of their names. Guys, my kids will be therapy for LOTS of reasons, I’m sure.”

Not gonna argue with you there, Busy!

2. Rosalind Arusha Arkadina Altalune Florence Thurman-Busson

Yeah, no, this isn’t a law firm, but actress Uma Thurman’s daughter’s actual name. When Thurman and her boyfriend Arpad Busson welcomed their little girl back in 2012, they could not agree on just one name – and so they ended up with five.

“We just call her Luna,” Thurman explained to Jimmy Fallon in a TV appearance on his show after she had the baby. “She’s lucky that way.”

3. Rainbow Aurora

Holly Madison (of Playboy Mansion fame) and her husband Pasquale Rotella got colorful when naming their daughter, born in March 2013. The former Girls Next Door star — now in fact expecting baby No.2 – doesn’t care what haters think of her baby’s bright name:

“I want my daughter to be proud of who she is and learn to speak up and stand up for herself at a young age.”

4. Pilot Inspektor

Actor Jason Lee did not pick this name because he wants his son to fly planes or, well, inspect things. The My Name Is Earl star has explained how he named his boy after a song on the band Grandaddy’s album The Sophtware Slump: “The opening track, ‘He’s Simple, He’s Dumb, He’s the Pilot,’ absolutely blew my mind when I first heard it. It was from this track that my wife, Beth, came up with the name Pilot for our son.”

Riiight…..

5. Sparrow James Midnight

Nicole Richie and rocker husband Joel Madden had already given their daughter, Harlow Winter Kate, a unique and off-beat name. So when Harlow’s little bro was born in 2009, the hip young couple needed an even more distinctive moniker. This is what Nicole had to say about her son’s unusual name choice:

“Joel and I have very different tastes in names,” she explains. “We really just have to work with whatever it is we both agree on, so I really liked Sparrow from Captain Jack Sparrow, and he liked it for different reasons.”

We’ll give her the Jack Sparrow thing, he is pretty cool.

6. Tallulah Belle

Tallulah Belle is the younger sister of Scout and Rumer Willis (back when Demi Moore and Bruce Willis were busy making babies together).

Unlike her big sisters, though, the youngest Willis girl didn’t like the offbeat name her parents chose, and so her parents, according to reports, allowed her at age 13 to change it.

7. Reign

We guess when your father is a “Lord”, being called Reign isn’t all that crazy. You know, in Kardashian land.

“I’m never certain [with names] until they’re born,” Kourtney Kardashian told People magazine after the birth of her third child last year. “I actually had the name on our list with Mason,” she explains of her firstborn. “Then with Penelope, I had it on the list but spelled R-A-I-N.”

When she found at that Baby #3 was a boy, the reality star mama just changed the spelling to the more masculine sounding R-E-I-G-N.

8. Apple

Long before Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin consciously uncoupled, they had a baby girl in 2004 – and named her after fruit. As you would if you are Gwyneth Paltrow. When questioned about the unique moniker, Paltrow explained to Oprah:

“Basically it was because when we were first pregnant, her daddy said… ‘If it’s a girl I think her name should be Apple.’ And I just, it sounded so sweet, and it conjures such a lovely picture for me, you know apples are so sweet and they’re wholesome, and it’s biblical and it’s just, they’re so, and I just thought it sounded so lovely.”

Oh, and speaking of biblical; Apple’s brother is named Moses.

There aren’t many things to say about the Oliver kids (as in Jamie Oliver is their daddy), except: WHAT?!

10. Banjo

Sure, it’s a stringed musical instrument, but Banjo also Rachel Griffiths’ son’s name. Sure why not?
