You can’t beat a classic.
However, if you are trying to avoid your little guy being one of five-six kids in his future school class with the same moniker, it might be worth looking into names that sound really old-school and classic – but actually have a little bit of a modern twist.
And trust us, there are some fab ones out there, for sure.

1. Samson
Biblical name (so really old-school, in other words), but also slightly more cool and unusual than just ‘Sam.’
2. Hendrix
Hendrix is one of those hip rock and roll names, like Lennon, Jagger and Presley, that have been used by many celebs and others of recent years, to honour the guitarist/singer/songwriter Jimi Hendrix. We love how it sounds like such a classical name, yet also has a bit of a rock’n’roll twist to it.
3. Henrik
This Scandi version of Henry is pretty cool, no?
4. Camden
There were a lot of boy names starting with a “C” a century ago, including “Charlie,” “Carl,” and “Clarence,” but a more popular option today is “Camden,” which means “child of the wind.”
5. Adriano
Because Adrian is so done, no?
6. Maxim
Sounds fab and almost regal, and while ‘Max’ has topped the charts in the last few years, there aren’t that many Maxim’s around yet.
7. Luis
“Louis,” was #19 in in the US name charts in 1890, but we like this slightly different version, which, in Hispanic means “renowned warrior.”
8. Noam
If you like ‘Noah’ but realise this name is currently everywhere.
9. Marco
There’ll always be loads of ‘Mark’s’ but a Marco is a fresh new twist.
10. Willem
A Dutch spin on the very overused William.
11. Andreas
Again, a Scandi (or Greek, if you will) take on a British name, this time we think Andreas makes a great alternative to the old classic “Andrew.”
