presidential baby names

If you, like us, were glued to the US election all last week and weekend, this is for you.

Especially if you are currently expecting – and in need of a good, solid name.

But while we were sitting out all the drama and craziness waiting to find out would Biden at last rid the political world of Donald Trump, we also took a moment here and there to admire some of the really fabulous baby names a bunch of former US presidents and first ladies have inspired.

Are you ready to pick YOUR winner?

1. Abraham

Abraham Lincoln was an American politician and lawyer who served as the 16th President of the United States from March 1861 until his assassination in April 1865.

2. Michelle

After, of course, possibly the most inspiring and brilliant first lady The White House has ever seen, Michelle Obama.

3. Benjamin

Benjamin Franklin might never have been president, but he was one of the founding fathers of the United States, and we think Benjamin makes for one solid name for your little boy.

4. Kennedy

While many may think of John (or any of the other Kennedys) when this last name is mentioned, we actually think Kennedy makes for one pretty little girl’s name, no?

5. Theodore

Theodore Roosevelt Jr (how cute is Theo for short?!) served as the 26th President of the United States from 1901 to 1909.

6. Thelma

Thelma Catherine “Pat” Nixon was Richard Nixon’s wife.

7. Nixon

You could go with ‘Richard,’ of course, but we think Nixon makes for a much cooler moniker to be honest.

8. Abigail

Love this name! Abigail Adams was the wife of John Adams, who served as the US President between 1797 and 1801.

9. Clinton

You can say he got his name after former President Bill Clinton, of course, or, how about future US President(!) Hillary?!

10. Martha

Martha Wayles Skelton Jefferson was Thomas Jefferson’s wife. Jefferson (which, coincidentally, makes for one great name for a little boy!) was the US President from 1801 to 1805.

11. Carter

Carter is a fabulous name for a little boy, we think, inspired, of course, by former US President Jimmy Carter, who was in The While House from 1977 to 1981.

12. Eleanor

Eleanor Roosevelt was, of course, the wife of Franklin D. Roosevelt, who served as the US President from 1941-1945.
