2020 baby names

We are on the home stretch of 2020.

And thank God for that, I think most of us will agree.

But much as this year has been a catastrophe in so many ways, let’s not forget that tons of great things have happened too. People have learned to slow down. New hobbies or even careers have been found. Never again will your boss doubt that yes, you can actually get work donw when working from home. And, most importantly, babies have been born and families have grown and hearts have expanded all over the world.

When it comes to names for these babies, baby name generator BabyCenter has just released their annual list of the trendiest baby names from 2020 – and we have spotted a definitive trend.

Sophia and Olivia came in the top rankinging spots for girls, while for the boys, Liam and Noah were very popular choices. What is interesting, is that both the boy names and the girl names follow a specific pattern: Out of the 50 top names for girls in 2020, 23 of them end with the letter “A”. (making it almost 50 percent!) And with the boys—many, many of the more popular names ended with the letter “N.” (In fact, close to 40 percent of the entire list were names with an N ending).
