‘Anything else woulda been basic.’
A baby’s name shouldn’t really matter to anyone except their parents but, of course, that’s not how it works when you’re famous.
Celebrities have been choosing bizarre names for their offspring since the year dot – something that seems to get under the skin of their fans.
As you may or may not have heard, Cardi B gave birth to her first child yesterday.
She and rapper Offset welcomed a girl they named Kulture Kiari Cephus.
Cards announced the news in an Instagram post, sharing a Beyoncé-esque photo of herself posing naked on a white throne surrounded by flowers.
It is a pretty out-there name and the internet reacted in typical fashion – by mercilessly taking the mick out of it.
No she did not name that baby Kulture….

Imagine carrying a baby for 9 months, only to name it Kulture.

Cardi has responded to the hate in typical fashion, saying that any other name would have been too “basic” for her child.

She’s not wrong – as one fan mentioned, her and Offset’s real names are pretty out there too so they were never going to for for anything too plain.
Lissen, Cardi B’s name is Belcalis Marlenis Almanza and Offset’s name is Kiari Kendrell Cephus, they couldn’t just name their baby Jennifer.
I’m here for extra spicy, Hogwarts spell-ass names. Welcome to the world, Kulture!
