They’re very traditional.

Kate and Will are soon to be parents of three, but what will they call their new arrival?

The Duchess of Cambridge isn’t due until April so we still have a while to go before we learn what the next royal baby’s name will be but that hasn’t deterred punters from guessing.

The odds-on favourite with bookies in the UK for a girl is Alice, while for a boy it’s Albert, reports Grazia.

Both are names that have significant meaning for the royal family.

Choosing Alice would be a sweet nod to Prince Phillip, William’s grandad. Phillip’s mother, who was also the great-granddaughter of Queen Victoria, was called Alice.

They could call a little boy Albert after Prince Albert, Victoria’s husband.

It’s not unlikely that Kate and William would name the new baby after someone in the family.

Princess Charlotte was named in honour of her grandad, Prince Charles, while King George VI, Queen Elizabeth’s father (and the king in the film The King’s Speech), was probably the inspiration for young Prince George’s moniker.

Whatever the couple choose for the baby, it’ll probably be something very traditional.

They tend to “regurgitate the same names every few generations so it’s very hard to see a Princess Chardonnay or a Prince Wayne,” said Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes.

If Albert or Alice turns out to be right, one thing is certain – they’ll spark a big baby-naming trend.
