Is your baby due in 2019?

Then you might have started thinking about what to name your bundle already?

If not, you might be keen to know what names experts reckon will become popular in the new year, whether or not you want to opt them of avoid them for this very reason.

Luckily, baby naming site BabyCentre has drawn up a list of what it thinks will be the hot trends for names next year, and here is what they have to say:

1. Animation

No, not as an actual name, but last year, experts said lots of TV shows influenced names, and next year, they reckon parents will be taking names from kids’ cartoons.

Fancy being named after a Paw Patrol character? Well, they reckon lots of babies next year will be, so we should expect a few Ryders, Chases, Marshalls and Rocky’s.

Also, let’s remember, there is a full-length sequel to Frozen on the horizon in 2019, so BabyCentre reckons we will see more babies called Anna, Elsa, Olaf or Kristoff.

2. Back in time

In 2017, the baby name website said that there was an increase in popularity in classic 1980s names, like Michael and John. Next year, however, they think the 1970s will be parents’ source of inspiration, so keep your eyes peeled for Cliffs, Christines and Susans.

3. Travel

We all love a holiday – and BabyCentre reckons names inspired by places across the globe will prove popular too.

Cairo, Dallas, Israel and India are all names that have become more popular recently, so only time will tell what we can expert in the new year? Cyprus? Athens? Oregon? Phoenix?
