Baby names come in and out of fashion, but the past five or six years, the top spots have often been held by the same few names.
However, it seems parents in 2021 are feeling the need to change this up a bit. For instance, neither the previously extremely popular Olivia nor Sophia have made the top five for the year to date, according to the baby name experts over at Nameberry.
What’s more, Ava and Arlo came in ahead of Luna and Milo (although the latter two still remain popular choices), and more bohemian names like Calliope and Caspian, Persephone and Phineas actually broke into the NB Top 100.
According to Nameberry, in much of the English-speaking world (US, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, UK) these 10 are some of the most searched baby names for boys and girls, and as you can see, there are some surprising new entries in there:
