Keira Knightley confirms her newborn daughter’s name and it is so lovely

Keira Knightley has confirmed her newborn daughter’s name.

The 34-year-old and her husband, James Righton, welcomed their second child together around seven weeks ago.

And now, the actress has told The Telegraph they named their newborn daughter Delilah, as she opened up about the newest addition to their family.

She explained that while she had been initially been planning a six months of maternity leave after Delilah’s birth, she made an exception for the premiere of her latest film Official Secrets earlier this month.

Although, she noted, it took a lot of planning.

“We’re going to be apart for six hours in total, so I pumped three feeds’ worth,” she said. “If I don’t do it my boobs will explode. I mean, quite literally. It’s going everywhere. So, you know, that’s not happening. The pump is with me. It’s fine.”

Delilah joins the couple’s eldest child, four-year-old Edie.

The Pirates of the Caribbean actress confirmed her second pregnancy back in May, at the Chanel J12 party in Paris.

The couple tied the knot in France in 2013, before they welcomed their daughter, Edie, in 2015.

In January this year, Keira opened up about her life as a mum – and the importance of achieving work-life balance.

She said:

“I don’t think we give women enough credit for the physical and emotional marathon they go through when becoming a mother.

“I come from a place of amazing privilege. I have an incredible support system; I’ve been unbelievably lucky in my career; I can afford good childcare, and yet I still find it really f***ing difficult.

“It’s OK to say that. It doesn’t mean I don’t love my kid, it’s just me admitting that the sleep deprivation, the hormonal changes, the shift in relationship with my partner, are all things that make me feel as if I’m failing on a daily basis.

“I have to remind myself that I haven’t failed, I’m just doing what I can do, but it’s not easy.”
