Daenerys has long been one of the fan favourites from the Game of Thrones series. Seen as the underdog turned the mother of dragons, she has inspired many parents to name their daughters after her.

In the United States alone more than 4,500 babies were named after the fiery blonde in 2018 but many have suggested that parents who have named their daughter Daenerys or Khaleesi may want to keep an eye on them after the most recent episode of GOT showed Daenerys true colours.

Fans of the long-running fantasy series were shocked when their beloved Daenerys razed King’s Landing to the ground, leading to many to ask if parents now regret naming their daughters after the character.

One mother, in particular, has said that she’s still glad that she named her daughter Khaleesi and not only that she went on to say that she believes that Daenerys did nothing wrong.

Speaking to The Cut mum Katherine Acosta whose one-year-old is the namesake to the mother of dragons said;

“I’m still behind her. Even after last night’s episode, I’m still rooting for her. I don’t think she did anything wrong. I think she did what she had to do.”

If that isn’t the statement of a protective mammy I don’t know what is. Let’s just hope her own Khaleesi expresses herself in a much less fire and brimstone way.
