Ola and James Jordan have revealed the name of their newborn.
The couple, who have been married for 17 years, announced last month that they had welcomed their first child – a baby girl.
And speaking to Hello!, they revealed that they hadn’t settled on a name for their daughter until a week after she was born. For the first week, the tot was “just Baby, our little munchkin.”
In the end, they picked the name Ella – which means light – for their baby girl.
“It’s been amazing and overwhelming at the same time. We’ve wanted this for so long. We had a lovely life, but this is making us feel so much happier than anything else we have done. Nothing in our careers measures up to this. It feels perfect,” Ola told the publication.
“It is all the more special because it’s something we never thought would happen. Our trophies and accolades fade into the background. This is the best moment of our lives, without a shadow of a doubt. Ola has given me the most precious gift. It’s totally changed the way I see the world,” James added.
The couple announced in September last year that they were expecting their first child – months after they opened up about their IVF journey.
They told Hello! that Ola fell pregnant on the first round of IVF in June, with Ola admitting a the time that she didn’t “think it’s properly sunk in.”
“When we had the scan it was funny because the baby was dancing. I’m not sure if it was a cha-cha or a jive, but it was definitely dancing,” she told the publication, as they showed off their 12-week scan.
“Finding out that we are pregnant is no doubt our biggest achievement ever. This is probably the most special and exciting thing that has ever happened to us,” James added.
