vintage baby boy names

Trying to choose a baby name isn’t an easy decision for any parent.

It’s what people will call him for his whole life, all the way from he is born through to adulthood. It’s how people will recall memories of him, and how he will be known. Names are a big deal, and so it is no wonder that picking the perfect one can be such a hard choice for expectant mums and dads.

Right now, vintage names are having a moment, meaning, if you are looking for something truly unique, you might already be too late for some of the more popular vintage names.

However, having sifted through some of the baby names that used to be more popular way back in the 1800s, there are some great ones that still haven’t hit the top baby name charts.

Such as:

1. Elmer

This name means “noble” and “famous,” and honestly; what’s better than that?

2. Claude

French, but fabulous.

3. Ernest

And just Ernie for short!

4. Rufus

We are obsessed with Rufus!

5. Abel

Biblical name with a modern feel.

6. Alfred

The name actually means ‘wise counsel’ and seems like a good, solid choice, no?

7. Mack

This name actually peaked in popularity way back in 1890, so you can say it’s vintage, alright.

8. Jasper

Hurry – because this one is bound to be back in fashion soon.

9. Asher

In the Bible, Asher was one of Jacob’s twelve sons who gave their names to the tribes of Israel.

10. Cassian

Cassian is a saints’ and Latin clan name, and we think it would be adorable to just go with ‘Cass’ for short!
