We’re already halfway through 2019, which means that it’s time to reflect on and reassess the last six months – while looking forward towards the next.

For some of us, that may mean planning our next holiday. For others, that may mean dreaming up our lists for St. Nick.

For any parents-to-be searching for naming inspiration for their little one, or new parents who are simply looking to ensure their choice of moniker is still in fashion, things just got a little easier.

The folks BabyCentre have tried to make it a little easier to find a lovely name for your little one, by putting together a list of the most popular names for 2019 so far.

And some of the top ranking monikers are absolutely adorable.

Lorna Marsh, senior editor at BabyCentre, told The Mirror:

“We are seeing a real rise in strong and stable names, especially those with a 1980s twist.

“Whatever anyone’s thoughts on that decade’s politics, they were at least more settled.

“Perhaps this is why parents of baby Michaels and Maxines are compensating for the current turmoil with solid 80s choices.”

Olivia has ranked as the top choice for girls among new parents, while Sophia has ranked second. And while Amelia was the third place name in 2018, it dropped four places this year – with Lily taking the third spot for 2019.
