A number of new names made it into the top 100 this year.
The Central Statistics Office has revealed the most popular monikers for babies in Ireland last year.
For the second year in a row, Emily was ranked as the most popular girls name in Ireland, with Emma and Amelia rounding out the top three.
Meanwhile, Jack moved up a spot on the list to claim the top rank for boys in 2017, followed by James and Daniel.
And there were a few new names to make it into the top 100 last year.
Theo and Jackson were among the newer monikers that parents were picking for boys, while Aoibhin, Nina, Pippa and Esma were the new go-tos for girls.
Girls were given a wider variety of names than boys over the last 12 months, with 4,493 girls’ names registered compared to 3,472 boys’ names.
