Cathy Donohue

The biggest baby boy name of 2018 has been decided.

We’re only four months in but that hasn’t stopped one name from taking the top spot.

According to statistics from Names.org, Noah is leading the way this year but it’s followed closely by last year’s favourite, Liam.

The website takes data from baby names chosen in recent years combined with the figures from their site, showing which names are receiving the most user interest and interaction.

The top ten male names for 2018 (so far) are:

Noah
Liam
Benjamin
Oliver
William
James
Elijah
Lucas
Mason
Michael

There are new additions like Mason but the traditional choices are still key including William, Michael and James.

When it comes to baby girl names then, Olivia is currently the most popular for this year and it’s one we know and love.

You can shorten it for all manner of sweet nicknames and it’s so elegant too.

Below feature the other names in the top ten and you’ll see that there’s a glorious mix of old and new monikers.

Charlotte has seen a major resurgence since Princess Charlotte was born and Harper has become a popular choice since David and Victoria Beckham named their only daughter Harper Seven.
