One expert has made his call.

We all know that baby names come in and out of fashion – know any baby Rogers or Janices, for example?

It’s likely you don’t, as these names are on the brink of extinction, according to statistics.

On the other hand, you might well know a baby Olivia, Ava or Liam as they’re some of the most popular baby names of the year.

It’s hard to know what’s around the corner as anything from a national mood for nostalgia to celebrity  trends could influence the top baby names of the next few years.

But one British statistician has pinned his colours to the mast and shared his predictions for some of the most popular baby names of the future.

Nick Stripe from the UK Office for National Statistics has had a look at baby names that have been growing in popularity over the last few years and has put together a list of the names he thinks will dominate in 2026.

“Some are established, others have plotted a meteoric rise into the top 100, whilst a few are still relatively uncommon,” he wrote on Huffington Post.

Most of the names aren’t too out there – Harper, Alice and George are all pretty straightforward – but ones like Aurora and Arlo might be a little more unusual (at least in 2018).

Read on to find out what your future kids, nieces, nephews or even grandchildren might be called.
