This Irish female baby name is going to be HUGE this year

It’s absolutely gorgeous too.

Nameberry is always ahead of the game when it comes to baby name trends and they have predicted some names they think will be big this year.

The baby-naming site has gone into major detail about the monikers about to take off but there’s one that particularly stands out for us.

Saoirse, which translates as freedom, is going to be very popular both here and further afield and as it’s a gorgeous Irish name, we’re delighted with this news.

Nameberry explains that Saoirse has been the “third furthest-rising” name in the United States in 2017 and as a result, it’s expected to become even more popular in 2018.

Why so?

Saoirse Ronan’s film Ladybird was been well-received by critics, 99 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes if you don’t mind and its popularity is likely to factor in the reasons for the name’s resurgence.

Other predictions include a rise in superhero-themed names such as Ivy (Poison Ivy), Aurora (X Men) and Rhodes (Iron Man).

The folks over at this particular baby-name site are also convinced that presidential-inspired names are likely to be popular.

Not only presidential names but presidential surnames including Jefferson, Lincoln and Monroe.

Finally, it’s all about S next year with Snow, Soren, Sasha, Sunday, Stellan, Sage and Sayer all tipped for the top.

What do you think? Are you a fan of these names and are there are any missing that should be included?
