Beauty brand Bourjois will be discontinued in Ireland and the UK next year

Cathy Donohue

Beauty brand Bourjois is to be discontinued in Ireland and the UK.

The news will come as a disappointment to long-time fans of the French beauty brand which was first established in 1863.

Yes, the cult makeup collection goes way back with Alexandre Napoleon Bourjois introducing the hero product, a powder blusher.

He simply wasn’t happy with the consistency of makeup available at the time and so the lightweight powder version was born.

The pots of blusher that we’re all so familiar with these days became widely available a couple of years later and we’re very sorry to see them leave our shop shelves.

Other popular purchases include Bourjois Healthy Mix Radiance Foundation and one of my personal favourites, City Radiance Foundation – the perfect lightweight, natural base.

Having contacted a representative for Coty Inc, Her was told:

“We can confirm that following a strategic review of Coty’s Consumer Beauty brands in the UK and Ireland we’ve made the difficult decision to exit Bourjois.

“This will allow us to focus to a far greater degree on our priority Consumer Beauty brands. The brand will still be available in selected markets globally”.

Bourjois will be available to buy in Ireland until June 2020 so if you’re a fan, it’s wise to stock up over the next few months.
