Doing this before you go to bed could solve your winter skin woes

YES.

Cathy Donohue

We’re experiencing crazy weather at present and there’s no denying that harsh winds and bitter cold can take its toll on your skin.

However, there might actually be to combat dry flaking irritated skin and it’s pretty easy too.

Allure’s Renee Jacques says that applying a face mask before you go to bed and leaving it to soak in overnight is the way forward.

The type of mask you choose is key and you’ll want to opt for something packed with hydrating, moisturising properties.

Joshua Zeichner, assistant professor of Dermatology at New York’s Mount Sinai Medical Center, says that a lot of the new face masks produced are “breathable creams” which are quickly absorbed.

So, if your skin is experiencing weather induced dryness, use a face mask directed at your skin type but SPARINGLY.

Over-moisturising can sometimes bring on breakouts and no one wants that!
