I found the €28 hair saviour that’s a must for humid Irish weather

Cathy Donohue

We’re no strangers to humid, clammy weather in Ireland.

It leaves you feeling like you need three showers a day and if you have thick, unruly hair (that’s me), you can forget any attempt to style it because it just sticks to your head in the end.

With that in mind, I’ve been trying very hard to find products that can help control my frizzy locks every time the humidity kicks in and I may have found my very own personal hair saviour.

To give you an idea of what my mane gets like, cast your mind back to Monica Geller’s honeymoon look and while it’s not quite that extreme, you get the idea.

Anyway, I recently came across Aveda’s Smooth Infusion range, which is designed to keep your hair smooth and stylish even when the humidity hits.

I’m a cynic at the best of times so you can imagine my reaction to this theory but of course, I had to give it the Smooth Infusion Style-Prep Smoother a go given that it claims to protect your locks “against humidity for up to 12 hours”.

How did I get on?

I’m not saying this bad boy changed my life or anything of the sort but it did make a considerable difference to how presentable my extremely thick hair looked.

It’s simple to use, you just whack it on before blow-drying and the weightless, serum-like consistency is ideal for anyone with heavy hair.

It’s like a hair primer (used in the same way as your skin primer) that acts as a protective barrier, combating any moisture in the air.

Overall, it was much easier to manage, it sat much better and thankfully, frizz wasn’t an issue so this €28.50 product has become my new hair hero (for now anyway).
