‘Iced Mocha’ hair is the colour trend that you honestly need this summer

Rebecca O'Keeffe

DIVINE.

Ladies, is there anything better than a bit of a hair colour change?

You just feel like a new woman, ready for anything!

The summer months are a great bloody time to shake things up with a new look, and we know what we’re going for.

Introducing: Iced Mocha hair, the balayage-like effect that we’re absolutely obsessed with.

The trend was created by Florida-based hair colourist Gerilyn Ghaisarzadeh, who recently chatted to Allure about her creation.

?I C E D M O C H A? . Using some new techniques I learned at the international balayage class in NYC with @jessicascotthair @suetyrrellstylist and @xo.farhana.balayage Thanks to @bestofbalayage for always having the best of the best to learn from!!! ??♥️ . This is her second balayage after a year ago. We discovered her water was too harsh with too much chemicals in it so she purchased a filter for her shower head and ever since then it’s been smooth sailing!!! Sarah Is the dream client she is the one that listens to everything with a open mind And has treated her hair as recommended before her second balayage. Her Hair super healthy And a bright blonde after following regimen. I cannot believe this is the same head of hair!! . “I first started with a Malibu crystals treatment,” she explained.

This basically breaks down the mineral buildup hard water can leave on your hair – handy.

She continued, explaining her method:

“I had to remove unwanted minerals and hard-water deposits from the hair. Then I followed up with a B3 semi-permanent conditioning treatment for strength.”

“I started my balayage hair colour in the back using four strengths of Pulp Riot Blonde AF lightener, depending upon the needs of the area and B3 for strength and integrity.”

“This process usually takes four to five hours from start to finish, and I suggest a balayage every 10 months to a year. But I see my clients every five weeks for root touch-ups and toner or another melt.”

Every 10 months isn’t too bad at all!

Anyway, have a gander through the pictures of iced mocha hair, and try not to call your hair stylist…
