Including these 6 foods in your diet will make a HUGE difference to your skin

Trine Jensen-Burke

Summer can be a real troublemaker when it comes to our skin.

So many of us get skin that will either flare up or get really, really dry come this time a year, often made worse by the warm temperatures outside.

This is often even worse for people who suffer from rosacea, the common skin condition where a pinky blush or acne-like bumps appears in the face, often over the nose, cheeks, chin and forehead – and results in redness, acne, swelling and superficial dilated blood vessels.

But did you know that for many, changing up their diet, can actually end up making a huge difference to their skin – and improve not only rosacea symptoms, but also the overall health and look of your complexion (and skin in general)?

It’s true. Your skin is an organ – your body’s biggest organ, in fact, that every day protects us from pretty much the entire outside world. Eating better will no doubt improve your overall health and feelings of wellness, but if your skin is your major concern,  here are six foods nutritionist Vicky Pennington told Red magazine we should all be loading up on:

1. Leafy greens and whole grains

2. Nuts and berries

3. Lentils, asparagus and kale

4. Deeply pigmented fruits and vegetables such as sweet potato, broccoli and cauliflower

5. Fatty fish, such as wild salmon and mackerel

6. Chia flax seeds
