Spotted at Penneys: Two cruelty-free dupes for popular makeup brands

Melissa Carton

The things you find on a trip to Penneys.

I popped into Penneys yesterday for the first time since lockdown began and the two main sections I wanted to hit up were underwear and beauty.

I was mostly checking out the beauty section for hair care products but along the way happened to spot some really great dupes for popular make up brands that are not just a fraction of the price but also cruelty free.

The first beauty product are these palettes which are a dead ringer for the MAC Art Library palettes.

I was given one of the MAC palettes as a gift for my birthday last year and honestly if you only showed me the inside of both palettes I wouldn’t be able to tell them apart.

The Penneys/Primark version is only €6, which is an absolute bargain and it also has the Leaping Bunny seal of approval which means it has not been tested on animals.

Double win really.

The palettes are also available in a wide variety of shades and they are well worth a look if you’re looking for a good dupe for the MAC palettes.

Another thing I spotted were these brushes which are pretty identical to the popular Real Techniques brushes.

I particularly liked the look of this pink set as it comes with a handy little travel case for the brushes.

Both of these sets are less than a tenner each and completely cruelty-free and suitable for vegans.

Penneys is probably one of the most visited stores in Ireland so it’s great to see so many of their products becoming cruelty-free and I’ll definitely be popping back in the next time I need more beauty supplies.
