Swap out your favourite perfume for these summer scents

Because heavy, heady scents don't cut it in this humid weather.

Cathy Donohue

Do you change your perfume for summer or wear the same scent all year around?

Given the insanely gorgeous weather of the past few days, we’ve been inspired to change our favourites in search of something a little lighter.

The oldies but goodies, Armani Code, Calvin Klein Eternity and Jo Malone Pomegranate Noir are gorgeous but a little heavy for this time of year.

In search of a new scent, we did a little homework and picked out some alternatives for the warmer months.

Estée Lauder Bronze Goddess Eau de Parfum, €70 for 50ml

Coconut and suntan lotion mixed together which sounds simple and smells incredible. Also, side note for the bronze-effect bottle which will look stunning atop your dressing table… with all those rose gold accessories we know you’ve gathered over time. This is limited-edition and only available while stocks last, which basically makes us want it all the more.

Chloe Love Story Eau Sensuelle, €86.50 for 50ml

This scent is a new take on the original Love Story, which we’re already big fans of. It might have something to do with the fact that I just want to be a #ChloeGirl or it could be the mix of vanilla, orange blossom and sandalwood. Comforting with a hint of sensuality, this will be your new fragrance friend, all year around.

Tom Ford, €120 for 50ml

If your holidays are a while away yet or maybe they’re just over (SOB), this scent will transport you straight back to those easy carefree days when all you had to worry about was what time to head to the beach. Mandarino di Amalfi Acqua is inspired by the Amalfi Coast and if you’ve ever been, you’ll know what a special part of the world it is. Mandarino floral but black pepper, coriander and shiso leaf adds a richness that sets this scent apart.

Sisley Paris, €80 for 30ml

If you like feminine, floral scents but want a hint of something extra too, this rose scent packs a punch. The combination of rose and musk means it’s one you’ll wear all year around but a touch of pink pepper adds the freshness that’s so important when choosing a perfume for the warmer seasons.

Miu Miu L’Eau Bleu, €44.50 for 20ml

This mini version is the perfect size for travel which is music to our ears. Let’s face it, packing becomes even tougher when you’re doing it for yourself AND the little ones. A mix of honeysuckle and lily of the valley, this is a summer option but works just as well for a light perfume for everyday wear.

Daisy Marc Jacobs, €96.50 for 100ml

This jasmine, berry and white violet pick might be in your possession already but it’s had somewhat of a revival due to its 10th anniversary. It’s the type of fragrance you’ll find yourself wearing again, so much so that it becomes ‘your’ perfume. If you’re a fan of Miss Dior Cherie, you’ll know exactly what I mean, a nostalgic scent that you just can’t shake off.
