Katie Mythen-Lynch

If you spent your teenage years being teased about your freckled complexion, prepare to feel very, very vindicated.

These days beauty bloggers and fashion folk are willing to pay good money for a face full of pretty pigmentation.

A new company called Freck Yourself lets you apply realistic, semi-permanent freckles using an intriguing ‘stencil + formula’ method.

The company’s Kickstarter campaign has raised less than $1,000 (far short of the $215,000) they were hoping for) but it has highlighted a clear interest in the product: a kit, which comes with 72 self-adhesive stencils and a rollerball of formula that is similar in formulation to sunless tanner.

The freckle patterns look natural and last two days. ‘Freck Yourself’ every morning for several layers of faded freckles that last four to six weeks.

Here’s some background:

Sadly the minimum order for production is 25,000 so Freck Yourself need to raise a LOT more cash before the product can be made.

In the meantime, those of us with natural freckles can feel that little bit special knowing ours are highly sought-after in the beauty world.
