The celeb-approved remedy that could help you beat the bloat
You've definitely heard of it, but have you tried it?
Some of the best beauty solutions are the old ones. We at Her love our fancy products but we'd be strong advocates of old-school hacks too, like dabbing Sudocrem on spots and spreading a little talcum powder on our roots when we're out of dry shampoo.
Another classic that's been knocking around for donkey's years but that we've never gotten around to trying is Epsom salt.
We might just have to try it, given the buzz around it. The stuff may look simple but has long been used for its various beauty and health benefits.
Victoria Beckham, Gwyneth Paltrow, Elle Macpherson and Kourtney Kardashian are all said to be fans of Epsom salt, thanks to the magnesium it contains.
Taking a bath with it can top up the magnesium we get in our diets, helping to reduce bloating and water retention and speed up metabolism.
"Magnesium ions play a critical role in the regulation of metabolism, hormone response and cell growth in many cell systems," pharmacist Karen Davies told Byrdie.
An Epsom salt bath is also thought to be good for your skin and could even aid sleep, beat smelly feet, relieve tired muscles
You can pick up bags of the stuff in the pharmacy or local health food shop for a few euro, though your mum will likely have some at home too.
