Such an unreal experience.
Okay, so I admit, when you first hear the words “glycolic peel” you kind of shudder.
It sounds scary, and to be fair, I thought it was.
So, when I was invited by the gorgeous folks at Juliette Armand to get a peel, I said why not.
Considering I didn’t really know what to expect, I was a little nervous.
I booked a Thavma facial (one of the treatments that Juliette Armand is famous for) in Jule Beauty Salon in Dublin.
The treatment works by using cutting edge technology EFFECTOX™, a cocktail of peptides and new generation active ingredients that inhibit the mechanism responsible for the creation of expression lines and wrinkles.
And so, off I went.
This facial is made up of four important parts, and I genuinely enjoyed every one.
The first step is the facial peel, which I was weirdly scared of. I have really sensitive skin, so I was concerned I would react badly.
My gorgeous therapist, Gillian, decided to go for a lower percentage Glycolic Acid, which was 10 percent.
When she applied it, all I felt was a gentle tingle – and it was kind of nice?
Nothing scary about it at all, I promise.
Then, a lower and upper mask was applied for hydrating and plumping, and also for firming and lifting.
All good things, obviously!
While the masks were applied, I got a glorious massage (I may or may not have dozed off during it!)
After the peel and the masking, the special Thavma Serum was applied, in a massage-like fashion, really focusing on lymph drainage.
Moisturising and firming, the serum helps prevent fine lines and wrinkles. It also targets dark circles (key for me!) and prevents the loss of elasticity.
This was followed by the application of the Thavma Lift Anti-Wrinkle Cream which moisturises the skin, leaving it tight and glowing.
All in all, the facial was glorious. I definitely felt the effects of the peel, and my skin feels brand new.
I will absolutely be going for another, and recommend you do too!
