Cameron Diaz calls mothers without childcare “superheroes”

The Bad Teacher star spoke of parenting her daughter, who’ll turn two later this year.

Cameron Diaz has called mothers who don’t have childcare “superheroes” as she opened up about motherhood.

The actress and mother of 20-month-old daughter Raddix sat down with comedian Kevin Hart for an episode of his talk show, Hart to Heart.

In the interview, Cameron spoke about parenting alongside her husband, Good Charlotte frontman Benji Madden.

“Everything starts and goes and stops and goes because it’s all about her needs,” she said. “I cook all of her meals. I wake her up, my husband puts her to bed. We’re a total tag-team.”

The 48-year-old added that the childcare they have has been a saving grace, saying she has no idea how parents without the help cope.

“We do have childcare that helps us, which, I don’t even know how mothers who don’t have childcare do it,” she said. “I really do not understand. My heart goes out to them.

“They are superheroes. I know that’s where the true fatigue comes in, when you don’t have somebody to sort of pass them off to.”

Kevin was in agreement with her, joking: “Absolutely. You give me my kids for an hour, I’m out of it. There’s no shot. No shot. I’m looking around — I don’t know how anybody does it. I don’t get it. How do people do this? I get scared if my wife leaves.”

Cameron also said it’s given her a greater understanding of those who demand their kids go outside to play so they can take a breather. “The mother who locks their kid outside because she just needs 10 minutes, I get it. I understand.”

Raddix was born on December 30, 2019, with Cameron previously stating her birth was the best thing to happen to herself and her husband.

The couple previously made it clear that they would not be sharing any pictures of their daughter in an attempt to protect her privacy.
