A new documentary about the life and career of Evan Rachel Wood is coming to HBO soon.
The two part series will delve into the sexual abuse allegations made by the actress against her ex-partner Marilyn Manson.
The film has been in the works for the past two years and is titled Phoenix Rising. It will initially premiere at Sundance Film Festival later this month.

The official synopsis reads:
“Actress and activist Evan Rachel Wood takes her experience as a survivor of domestic violence to pursue justice, heal generational trauma, and reclaim her story in a culture that instinctively blames women.
“The film intimately charts her journey as she moves toward naming her infamous abuser for the first time.”
The documentary’s title refers to the Phoenix Act, a law that Wood helped to create and strongly advocated for. It extends the statute of limitations on domestic violence in California from three to five years.
In February 2021, Wood alleged that Manson had “horrifically abused” her throughout their relationship in the late 2000s. She said that she was “groomed” and “brainwashed” by the singer as a teenager.
She had previously spoken out about being sexually abused but had never named her abuser.
In an Instagram statement, she opened up about the person she said was responsible for the first time.
“The name of my abuser is Brian Warner, also known to the world as Marilyn Manson,” she wrote. “He started grooming me when I was a teenager and horrifically abused me for years. I was brainwashed and manipulated into submission.
“I am done living in fear of retaliation, slander, or blackmail. I am here to expose this dangerous man and call out the many industries that have enabled him, before he ruins any more lives. I stand with the many victims who will no longer be silent.”
Manson has denied the allegations against him.
