This is the fourth time the Kilkenny-based studio has been nominated for the award.
Cartoon Saloon has been nominated for the Best Animated Movie at this year’s Academy Awards, as announced by Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra-Jones during today’s nominations announcements.
Their movie Wolfwalkers received the nomination, following in the footsteps of their three previous features: Song of the Sea, The Secret of Kells, and The Breadwinner.
They have not won the big award to date, having previously lost to Up, Big Hero 6, and Coco, respectively.
Wolfwalkers received the same nomination at the Golden Globes Awards this year, where it ultimately lost to Soul, which has also been nominated for the Academy Award too, alongside Over The Moon, A Shaun The Sheep Movie: Armageddon, and Onward.
