Loose Women stars respond to feud reports as Colleen Nolan threatens legal action

They're dismissing the claims as "tripe".

Coleen Nolan and her fellow Loose Women stars have addressed allegations of an on-set feud and claims that several panelists are refusing to film with her.

Reports of an alleged rivalry between the co-stars emerged in the Mail on Sunday, with the paper claiming Nadia Sawalha, Carol McGiffin and Stacey Solomon all told producers they no longer wished to work with the long-serving panellist.

The publication alleged their sources informed them that Nadia told producers she will no longer appear alongside Coleen after the singer's agent, Melanie Blake, called her a "nasty witch" on social media.

The reports also claimed that Carol had a falling-out with Coleen and that Stacey said she does not wish to work with the Nolan sister when she returns to the show from maternity leave.

Several current and former Loose Women stars took to social media to defend Coleen or refute the claims, including Coleen herself.

Coleen posted a statement to her Twitter account on Sunday night, writing: "Nothing printed in The Mail article today is true & I am taking legal advice about the slurs on me personally. We’ll also be addressing it on @loosewomen. Thanks for your support. Love Coleen xx"

She added on Instagram: "Just say you may have seen an article about me & Loose Women today online - I’m not going to repeat all the tripe they’ve printed but take it from me none of it is true & I am talking legal action - thanks for all your support I bloody love you lot!! - see you on the show this week x"

Though Carol appeared alongside the singer on Monday's show, the rumours were not addressed – apart from a joke Coleen made about already going through a "stressful time" without her co-stars poking fun at a throwback picture of her celebrating her 21st birthday.

Stacey spoke out on Twitter, writing: "What Coleen said. I’m doing my absolute best not to highlight the article or mention the paper or say anything really that might get them the click bait reactions they are after," alongside some heart emojis.

Another panelist, Kaye Adams, reposted Stacey's tweet, adding: "Pretty sick that we have to even respond to this puerile nonsense".

Janet Street-Porter chimed in with, "I love working with Coleen Nolan and we’ve never had a single disagreement- sorry if that’s not ‘news’ xx," while Brenda Edwards said, "it’s always a pleasure to hang with you at work @loosewomen and also out of work, you have always made me feel so welcome, and I appreciate the straight talking, fun friendship we have!!"

Saira Khan, who left the show last year, was a little more cryptic in her defence, writing on Instagram that Coleen is "not the problem" and that there are "a lot of smiling crocodiles on that show".

The show's producers also released a statement dismissing the claims and stating: "Panellists are chosen for each show by the Loose Women editor and senior production team, not the panellists themselves.

"Loose Women works to a rota of panellists with Coleen typically starting off the show at the beginning of the week, while Nadia often presents the week's final shows."
