RTÉ’s Lottie Ryan welcomes first child

Lottie Ryan has welcomed her first child.

The RTÉ presenter welcomed her first child, a baby boy, with her husband Fabio Aprile.

Ryan’s agents, NK Management, announced the happy news morning, saying that the couple are enjoying their time as a family.

“NK Management is pleased to announce that Lottie Ryan has given birth to a baby boy prematurely at 33 weeks,” they said in a statement.

“Lottie and Fabio will now be spending time as a family and we ask that their privacy be respected at this time.”

Lottie, daughter to the late Gerry Ryan, announced that she was expecting her first child earlier this year. Sharing a post on her Instagram with a picture of a baby grow, she wrote: “I guess quarantine wasn’t that boring after all #comingsoon.”

The 35-year-old opened up recently about the morning sickness she experienced during her first trimester, saying: “I’ve just been nauseous. I feel like I have the world’s worst hangover but I didn’t have any booze so it’s not justified.”

Later during a Q&A online, she told her followers that he pregnancy had been going well but that there had been some “complications.”

“Pregnancy is good and I am good,” she said. “It hasn’t been that way the whole way through, we’ve had complications but thankfully myself and baby are very healthy and very well so I’m very lucky.”

She added: “I was very sick but what I will say is every pregnancy is different. So you need to talk to your GP or midwife because that’s what I did and it was the best thing so talk to someone.”

Lottie and Fabio married in Italy in 2017.
