Nick Cannon releases new song as an “ode” to ex-wife Mariah Carey: “I want you back”

An unexpected turn of events.

Nick Cannon has a lot of baby mamas, but he apparently misses the first and best known one the most.

A press release for his new single ‘Alone’, which was released for Valentine’s Day, reportedly describes the song as an “ode to Mariah Carey”.

Cannon’s single also samples one of Carey’s own songs, 1990’s ‘Love Takes Time’.

The lyrics seem to reference the feelings the presenter still has for his ex-wife, though they imply she might be better off without him due to his fathering of several children by multiple women in recent years.

“I say I’m cool when I know I miss it / I’d trade it all for the case / If I could have you back / If I could go back to where we started at,” he sings on the track.

While the former couple share two children together, 10-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe, Cannon is also dad to 4-year-old Golden and 1-year-old Powerful Queen (who he shares with model Brittany Bell), 7-month-old twins Zion Mixolydian and Zillion Heir (who he shares with DJ Abby De La Rosa), and his and Alyssa Scott’s late son Zen, who sadly passed away in December after being diagnosed with brain cancer.

He is currently expecting his eighth child, another son, with model Bre Tiesi.

Cannon’s new song refers to all these women and pregnancies as he sings: “As much as I want you back / It’s probably better where you at / ‘Cause I’m still running the streets / I’m still all in the sheets / Having babies / Models and singers and actresses saying they pregnant by me.”

Tweeting a link to listen to the tune, Cannon wrote: “This is for anybody else who is #ALONE on Valentines Day… I had to come Raw from the heart on this one. #Broken #Shattered #Toxic #RAW&B #Alone”

The former spouses were married from 2008-2016. Carey has been dating dancer Bryan Tanaka on and off since the pair’s split.

A source recently told Us Weekly that Carey was unbothered by Cannon’s ever-expanding family as long as her kids are good.

“Mariah and Nick are really great co-parents and have a good relationship [and] friendship now so any time Nick has exciting news to share, she’s just happy for him,” the source said.

“As long as Roc and Roe are still very much a part of Nick’s life, which they are, and he gives them equal attention, that’s what she solely cares about.”
