Piers Morgan says he “still” doesn’t believe Meghan Markle after quitting GMB

Morgan quit the show on Tuesday evening.

Piers Morgan has broken his silence following his decision on Tuesday evening to leave his role as co-host of Good Morning Britain following his coverage of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s primetime interview with Oprah.

Ofcom was inundated with complaints this week, with more than 41,000 sent to the regulator after Morgan responded to Markle’s admission of feeling suicidal by insisting that he didn’t believe her.

“I don’t believe a word she says, Meghan Markle. I wouldn’t believe it if she read me a weather report,” said Morgan.

On Wednesday morning, Morgan took to Twitter to speak publicly for the first time on his departure, and shock-horror, he has doubled down on what he said.

His tweet read: “On Monday, I said I didn’t believe Meghan Markle in her Oprah interview. I’ve had time to reflect on this opinion, and I still don’t. If you did, OK. Freedom of speech is a hill I’m happy to die on. Thanks for all the love, and hate. I’m off to spend more time with my opinions.”
