Tommy Fury responds to Jake Paul ruining his baby news

Sarah McKenna Barry

“It is what it is.”

New dad Tommy Fury has addressed Jake Paul’s tweet which announced the arrival of his daughter before he had a chance to do so.

Jake, who is Tommy’s boxing rival, took to Twitter last week and told the world that Tommy and Molly-Mae Hague’s baby had been born.

He wrote: “Tommy has no excuses now…Baby’s born.

“Money’s massive. Immigration no issue. Tyson promises he & Papa will make Tommy retire from boxing & change his last name if he can’t beat the YouTuber.

“Tmrw I’m coming to London to look at all 3 Fury’s in the eye & shake on that promise.”

Tommy has since addressed Jake’s actions during an interview on Piers Morgan Uncensored.

When asked about it, Tommy said: “Listen, at the end of the day, all Jake Paul can do from wherever he is in this world is speculate. And that’s all that was. Speculation. Nothing’s ever true unless you hear it from me and Molly.”

Piers then asked if he likes the trash-talking side of boxing.

“It’s part of the parcel,” Tommy said. “It is what it is. It’s stuff we have to do. It’s called the entertainment business, that’s the game that we’re in. Me and Jake Paul are great dance partners and I’ve enjoyed the build up so far. It’s going to get a lot more heated and I can’t wait. But the real work starts when we get inside those ropes. Social media can’t save Jake Paul, his mouth can’t save him. It comes down to fighting and I’m a lot better at doing that than him.”

As well as seemingly breaking their news early, Jake also attracted backlash for a now-deleted comment on Molly-Mae’s birth announcement.

He wrote: “just in time to watch your dad get knocked out”.
