3 easy (and not too messy) autumn crafts to get the kids involved with

Trine Jensen-Burke

The afternoons are about to get colder and darker.

So staying inside and making some adorable arts and crafts seems like the perfect way to spend some time together, no?

Children love when you sit down with them to do some fun creative projects, and we have rounded up three really great ones to start you off – easy enough for everyone to take part, and none of which require a shocking amount of clean-up after either.

1. Pinecone Hedgehogs

Children love looking for sticks and stones and pinecones (rhyme not intended). So set off for your local park and hunt for some supplies for these adorable little creatures, then spend an afternoon making some seriously cute autumnal decor bits for your mantelpiece.

2. Paper Strip Pumpkins

Get yourself to your local bookshop (or Dealz) and pick up a book of different coloured and patterned scrapbook paper, and these cute pumpkins will be yours in no time.

3. Leaf Foxes

Tet another craft that combines getting some fresh air first (to collect the leaves), then back home to make some super-adorable pictures – that we reckon make the perfect gift for granny and granddad or anyone else who’d be chuffed to have these taped to their fridge!
