This is the age that children stop believing in magic (it’s younger than it used to be)

What do you think is to blame?

This generation is becoming non-believers a lot earlier than the last.

Kids today are no longer believing in magic by the age of six, unlike their parents who were still believers by the age of eight.

Research has found that children now are doubting the existence of magic and creatures like unicorns, fairies and elves by the time they turn six.

This is two years earlier than that of their parents.

And what’s the reason behind the sudden disbelief?

Well, 40 percent of parents think social media and technology is to blame.

However, 34 percent say that increased time working means parents don’t have as much time to spend with their children.

“Imagination is a powerful tool and it is something that is in use constantly, whether you are a child or an adult,” founder of Mama Mummy Mum, Chantelle Hazelden said of the findings.

“To be imaginative is to be innovative – as parents we should encourage our children to use their imaginations at all times – as it has benefits for both parents and kids alike.”

The study also found that four in ten mums and dads hoped their children would believe in magic longer to help maintain their innocence.
