The dlr Mill Theatre in Dundrum has a Christmas panto – and it sounds SO good

Trine Jensen-Burke

Fancy bringing the kids to a super-fun panto, but not prepared to deal with the manic city centre in December?

Well, then you should be heading to Dundrum instead this festive season, where the dlr Mill Theatre has just kicked off this year’s panto – Cinderella.

I mean – it’s safe to say, we are all dying to go to the ball this Christmas and what better way than a family day out at the panto?

Even better? This panto lasts only one hour – meaning all the fun and entertainment you want, and yet over before the kids’ attention span starts fading. A win-win if you ask us.

Written and directed by Geoff O’Keeffe of Mill Productions, Cinderella is played by Evelyn Shaw, along with her best friend ‘Buttons’ played by Ben Waddell, as an all-singing dancing comic partner.

And then of course there is the handsome Prince Charming, Joe Wright–  who is very alright.

Spots galore, Panto Dame Garry Mountaine leads as the ugliest of the ugly sisters with the fairer of Fair City’s Matthew O’Brien. As well as the above, superb singing talent Annalisa Evans features as the wicked nasty nasty stepmother, who makes Cinderella and all the boys and girls shiver with fright. And not to forget Ethan Dillon plays the wisecracking Corkonian and Princes sidekick, Dandini.

“Find out whether Cinderella makes it to the ball, will she meet her handsome prince and will the ugly dames get their just deserts? With mischievous comedy, amazing special effects and plenty of boos and hisses, Cinderella will be packed with festive fun for all the family from those aged 4 to 104. So polish off your pumpkins, grab your glass slippers and get ready to head to Dundrum! Kindly sponsored by Donnybrook Fair.”
