Here's everything we know about the Call the Midwife Christmas special
We're so excited!
We're big fans of Call the Midwife and if you're anything like us, you're probably counting down the days until the Christmas special.
Recently some details were revealed about what we can expect in this year's Christmas special and honestly we're counting down the days.
Call The Midwife will be an extended 90-minute episode for the Christmas special which is set in December 1965.
Amongst other drama of the hour and a half long special Sister Monica Joan will be rushed to hospital, and Trixie is furious to receive a subscription to a Marriage Bureau as a Christmas gift.
Elsewhere in the episode there will be a surprise reunion for Shelagh involving her in a deeply moving birth, and the circus arrives in Poplar, which will be particularly exciting for Nurse Crane.
According to Tyla, when speaking about the Christmas special Heidi Thomas, Creator, Writer and Executive Producer, said;
"Everyone is overjoyed to be whisking the dust sheets off Nonnatus House and getting back to filming after lockdown.
It is a particular thrill to be able to deliver the Christmas Special on time, just as we promised at the start of the pandemic.
We are very much a family at Call The Midwife, and like families everywhere, we have missed each other. We will now be putting more love and energy into our work than ever and can't wait to share Series 10 with our fantastic, loyal audience."
I think with the year it has been we're all looking forward to cuddling up on Christmas Day with some comfort TV and Call The Midwife is definitely one that will be on my Christmas 'to watch' list.
The Christmas special of Call The Midwife will air on BBC One on Christmas Day evening at 7:40pm so don't forget to set your reminder.
