There’s a free event in Dublin this weekend and the kids will love it

Melissa Carton

We’re set for another weekend of amazing weather.

With all schools closed for summer many of us parents will be planning day trips out and about with the kids.

If you’re in Dublin this weekend and looking for something fun to do, this event might be just what you’re after.

It’s also completely free, yay!

A National Playday is being held by Dublin City Council in Merrion Square Park this Sunday.

The free event is running from 1pm to 5pm and is set to be the perfect day out with the kids.

The event is in celebration of Article 31 which gives all children the right to play.

The list of activities is yet to be announced but Dublin City Council have advised visitors to wear old clothes, or clothes that you would be ok getting dirty, because they predict there could be some messy fun.

Planning activities with the kids over the summer can be costly. My son is constantly asking to join every summer camp that he sees.

Free events like this one are not just a great day out having fun for the kids but also great for mum and dad’s pocket.
