The IFI is hosting a family film festival and it looks amazing

Melissa Carton

Looking for something to do with the kids before they head back to school?

From Friday, August 31 to Sunday, September 2, the IFI in Dublin will be hosting a fantastic family film festival.

Among the activities, you and your family can enjoy premières, as well as brilliant animations from across the globe.

This year’s festival will feature films such as Marnie’s World, Supa Modo and Tito and the Birds along with hours of brilliant shorts.

Attendees will also get to meet the IFI young critics and other special guests, including festival regular Clara Murray from RTÉJr.

Held on the last weekend before the school gates reopen it’s a great excuse to have a day, or two, out with the family.

The IFI is a fantastic intimate location for small screenings and the staff are more than happy to assist with any additional needs, like subtitles, if required.

Family tickets for the film festival are €15 for two adults and two children and single tickets are €5 each and can be bought online or at the cinema.

The film screenings will be shown from 11 am onwards, with the latest film starting at 6.30 pm. More information about the festival as well as film listings can be found at the IFI facebook page or on the IFI website.
