Kristen Bell reveals what she really tells her kids about Santa Claus

And there was one holiday moment that was particularly stressful

She got brutally (and hilariously) honest in the interview.

Kristen Bell is a strong believer in being honest with her children – and that’s why she’s not planning on pushing the “crazy” story of Santa Claus.

The mum of two opened up about her family’s Christmas traditions as she was talking about the upcoming sequel to Bad Moms called A Bad Moms Christmas.

And while the family seem to enjoy a more low-key holiday season, the jolly man in red doesn’t seem to factor in too much.

Last year, she told Today:

“We decorate like crazy, which is always really fun, but other than that it’s just relaxing.

“I have no problem calling it if everyone’s stressed and saying, ‘Let’s order out.’”

The 37 year old and her husband, Dax Shepard, have two daughters together, Lincoln, 4, and Delta, 2.

But the Frozen star said they don’t plan on pushing the “crazy” Santa Claus narrative on their daughters too much.

She added:

“We have to tell our kid that one night a year breaking and entering is OK and that a dude in a jumpsuit is going to come down the chimney and is going to rifle through our stuff, but it’s OK because he’s going to leave us gifts?

“That’s a crazy story to tell your child.”

Kristen went on to explain that the family have tried to incorporate St Nick into their Christmas traditions before but it didn’t go down so well.

She recalled:

“We’ve only met Santa once and it was the obligatory picture where both girls were crying.

“One girl was hysterically crying and the other one was sort of giving him the stink eye.”
