“Star-crossed babies”: Newborns named Romeo and Juliet born in same hospital hours apart

Amanda Cassidy

Shakespeare may have described it as a “tale of woe” but the internet is LOVING this super cute coincidence at a hospital in South Carolina.

Last Sunday, Morgan and Edwin Hernandez welcomed their son Romeo into the world. Just a few hours later, Christiana and Allan Shifflett welcomed their baby girl named Juliet.

Neither couple knew each other, both had their names picked out in early pregnancy and both ended up in neighbouring rooms at the hospital.

With permission from their parents, birth photographer, Cassie Clayshulte captured Romeo and Juliet as they snoozed next to each other, just hours old.

Speaking to CBS news, Cassie said it was so nice to be part of something so sweet:

“We’ve already made jokes they need an arranged marriage. I had told them that if they want to book me now as their wedding photographer they could do that.”

The images have gone viral after she posted the pictures to her Facebook page.

We think they are simply a heavenly match!
