There’s plenty of family-friendly fun at The Curragh this month

Katie Mythen-Lynch

Have you always wanted to experience the races?

Well this month there’s an opportunity to put on your glad rags and make a weekend of it – and you won’t even need to book a babysitter!

Keeneland Family Day takes over The Curragh on Sunday, August 13th, with a host of fantastic children’s entertainment on offer.

As well as top class racing with the Group 1 Keeneland Phoenix Stakes, kids will have the chance to meet their favourite cartoon characters and have their faces painted while enjoying the fun.

Mr Tayto will be there to greet all his little fans, as will the Front Runner Racing Club. A caricaturist will also be on hand to create fun family portraits to take home and there’ll even be a Reptile Zoo on site!

The gates open at 12 noon (you can check out the full programme for the day here) and the action continues until 6pm.

Getting there: By car: The Curragh is located off Exit 12 on the M7, with free car parking; By train: to Kildare town with free shuttle bus to the races; Dublin Coach: any Dublin Coach service will stop on request.

So what are you waiting for? Book your Keeneland Family Day Family Ticket (€25) here and plan an awesome August at The Curragh.
