Angelina Jolie has confessed she’s “not enjoying being single” as she opened up about what she learned about herself since splitting from Brad Pitt.

The mum of six found herself in the middle of a media frenzy last summer when she filed for divorce from Brad Pitt.

She decided to take a step back from the spotlight at the time, focusing mainly on her family and philanthropic work.

She’s currently on tour to promote her new film, First They Killed My Father, where she admitted the experience has taken a toll on her emotional and physical health.

When asked about the end of her 12 year relationship with Brad Pitt, she told the Sunday Telegraph:

“I don’t enjoy being single. It’s not something I wanted

“There’s nothing nice about it. It’s just hard.

“Sometimes maybe it appears I am pulling it all together, but really I am just trying to get through my days.

“Emotionally, it’s been a very difficult year. I have had some other health issues. So my health is something I have to monitor.”

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie met on set while they were filming Mr & Mrs Smith. They were together for 12 years and married for two, before separating in 2016.

But while the separation has been difficult, the mum told how she has been able to take away some positives from the experience – including the chance to “rediscover a little bit of the old me”.

She explained:

“I am going to cooking classes.

“Cooking is one of those things you do when you are settled in your life and you can take the time.

“But somehow I am just very impatient and I am a little bit erratic.”

Angelina told how it has been “a very good time to absorb and develop and grow” after feeling like she lost her way.

She said:

“I think [I lost my] way a bit.

“I have had a lot happen in my life, from certain people passing to health issues to raising the children. And it’s been a very good time to absorb and develop and grow.

“But maybe now that my kids are growing up I am starting to realize that my own sense of play has been put on hold for a while.

“And maybe them hitting their teens is going to bring out a little more fun in Mom…so maybe I am going back. It may be time.”

The former Hollywood power couple had previously been rumoured to be reconciling but a source told E! News that is not the case.

They said:

“They are not getting back together.

“They are both focused on putting their children’s priorities first and are getting along, but this story is clearly an outsider trying to create a storyline that doesn’t exist.”
