It’s undeniably been a really tough time for makeup artist Lisa Armstrong.

The 41-year-old – who works on BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing – has now split from her husband of 11 years, Ant McPartlin.

The duo have actually been together for 23 years, and she more recently supported Ant as he entered rehab for substance abuse treatment.

And as news of their divorce was confirmed by a spokesperson on Saturday evening, fans of Lisa have been flooding her social media with offers of support.

One particular message that caught Ms Armstrong’s eye on Twitter read: “Going through difficult times we must always be reminded that better times are ahead.

“For a beautiful person like yourself it will be tough but keep your chin up and you will bloom again.”

The Tweet was liked by Lisa, who evidently is back on the platform following what must have been a difficult weekend for her.

Ant’s spokesperson confirmed to the Sun On Sunday that the TV presenter was “very sad to announce” that he is ending his marriage.

It was added: “Ant asks for privacy at this difficult time, for both himself, Lisa and their immediate families. No further statement will be made.”

The Sun On Sunday furthermore quotes a source who reveals that “this was a tough decision for Ant but he has to do the right thing for his health.

“The marriage has effectively been struggling for eight months. He’s given it a good go.”

Mr McPartlin, 42, is a huge star having fronted numerous presenting gigs alongside Declan Donnelly. The pair are best-known for the hit likes of I’m A Celeb and Britain’s Got Talent.

Ant is said to be worth around €70million and lawyers have speculated that given the longevity of their relationship, Lisa will be entitled to around half of that fortune.
