The little girl’s name shares a very special connection with her grandfather, the late Steve Irwin.
Bindi Irwin – the daughter of the legendary Steve Irwin – and her husband Chandler Powell have welcomed their first child, a baby girl.
Baby Grace was born yesterday. Her arrival coincided with the couple’s anniversary.
Bindi shared the good news on Instagram this morning.
“Celebrating the two loves of my life. Happy first wedding anniversary to my sweetheart husband and day of birth to our beautiful daughter,” she wrote.
“Grace Warrior Irwin Powell. Our graceful warrior is the most beautiful light. Grace is named after my great-grandmother, and relatives in Chandler’s family dating back to the 1700s.”

“Her middle names, Warrior Irwin, are a tribute to my dad and his legacy as the most incredible Wildlife Warrior. Her last name is Powell and she already has such a kind soul just like her dad.”
She continued: “There are no words to describe the infinite amount of love in our hearts for our sweet baby girl. She chose the perfect day to be born and we feel tremendously blessed.”
Bindi shared a glimpse of baby Grace with her followers on Instagram, as well as her baby-grow, which announced the news.
Over the past week, fans speculated that Bindi already gave birth, but the star’s brother Robert debunked those rumours. He told Yahoo that she was still very much pregnant and “glowing”.
Bindi met her husband in 2013, when they were teenagers. The couple got engaged in 2019, and they tied the knot last year in a private ceremony in Australia.
Bindi announced her pregnancy on Instagram in August 2020. In September, they revealed that they were expecting a girl.
