Dad does the sweetest thing for daughter who says she doesn’t love herself

You just have to watch the video

This is lovely.

While kids may have many hangups while growing up, it’s incredibly sad to see young children being so tough on themselves.

That’s what happened to this girl, Riley. One day her mum asked her if she loved herself to which she simply answered ‘No’.

Her mum was so taken aback by her answer, that she took to Facebook to show how she, along with her husband, made Riley feel good about herself again.

In the post, Chelsea Sylvaria wrote: “Yesterday I was joking around with Riley and telling her everyone I loved.

“‘I love Riley, I love Gavin, I love Grayson . . . ‘ Riley then looked at me and went, ‘And do you love yourself???’ I immediately said ‘Of course I do, you always have to love yourself! Do you love yourself???’

“And she responded very softly, ‘No.’ I was a bit taken aback and said, ‘What do you mean you don’t love yourself?’ To which she uttered my worst fear: ‘I don’t love myself because I don’t have hair!’

“Fast forward to later that night when we got home. Dave wanted to talk to her about what she had said . . . this was the result.”

Chelsea then went onto share two video with her daughter and husband.

In the first, her husband Dave can be heard addressing Riley’s fears.

“Do you know how special you are?” he asked. “Hair doesn’t matter. I know you would like to have hair.

“Daddy wishes you could have hair, too, for you, but I love you the same no matter what and so does Mommy, and so does everybody else. It doesn’t matter if you’re bald or if you have hair. It doesn’t make any difference.”

Then in the second video, Dave starts of by saying, “Do you want Daddy to shave his head?” to which the girl responds with smiles and nods. “I’m going to shave my head. Want to do it right now?”

It’s clear the Riley is absolutely delighted, and Chelsea finished the post by saying: “Riley is currently over being upset about having no hair, minor bump in the road of life!”

Hurrah!
